About
Peter Nash has over 40 years experience in photography, having served most of his professional career in the newspaper industry. During this time he worked on the staff of several newspapers and provided his skills in a freelance capacity, preferring to work in monochrome with his unique style of documentary photography having been published worldwide and bringing him an abundance of awards.
His coverage of the war in Bosnia and his images from Sri Lanka brought him 3 press photographer of the year titles with many awards for his feature photography and documentary projects. He also won multiple awards for his sports photography with his images from the commonwealth games in Vancouver, Canada, taking him to the European sports photographer of the year awards in Barcelona.

Throughout his career, Peter built up an archive of images from around Ireland illustrating the changing landscape, traditions and ways of life so unique to Ireland. However, the majority of his archive was lost in the 1992 bombing of Coleraine town centre where the collection was stored in the Coleraine times office.

Come the millennium Peter came to realise the digital age had created the demise of the newspaper industry and decided to change his direction and focus on documentary style wedding photography using black and white film. This led to a great demand in Peter's photography style across the UK, Ireland and further afield. During this period Peter developed his passion for landscape photography and opened his Portrush gallery in 2010.
